Lakes & Rivers |
Everyone
loves to get wet in the summertime.
Nothing makes the kids or grandchildren
happier than to spend their day
on the shores the lake or the
banks of the river. Lakes and
rivers are abundant in Sierra
Foothills as the snow melts and
provides valuable water the Central
Valley farmlands. Take a leisurely
float trip on the Stanislaus River
at Knights Ferry on a hot summer
day, or a white water raft trip
on the Tuolumne River for those
that want a little more adventure.
Copperopolis
is home to Lake Tulloch that has
55 miles of shoreline and offers
boating, fishing, wakeboarding,
waterskiing, sailing and personal
watercraft use. The lake is fed
by the Stanislaus River and the
water level is kept constant.
Fishing for small and large mouth
bass and trout is a popular pastime.
During the summer months boat
rentals are available through
our Guest Services Manager, or you may want
to just relax with a glass of
wine and enjoy the scenery on
our Sunset Cruise. Our Guest Services Manager can help you with the details.
Bring your friends and spend a
little time in this summer playground.
If you want to venture a little
further and explore other lakes
and rivers there are several. Lake
Melones, only a 30-minute drive
and Lake Don Pedro, another popular
spot, and it too is a 30-minute
drive. Other nearby lakes includes
Lake McClure, Lake McSwain,
New Hogan Reservoir, and Lake
Camanche.
Lake Alpine, Pinecrest and Spicer
Reservoir, a little higher in
elevation, are well worth the
extra drive time to visit. The
pristine lakes and rivers of
the Sierra are just another
adventure waiting for you to
discover from your base camp.
